The Circuit Clerk's office is located on the second floor of the Scott County Courthouse (Civil & Administrative Unit, Room 208), (Probate & Family Court Unit, Room 240).  The Criminal Division is located in the Judicial Building which is located behind the courthouse.

JURY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Jury Duty: If you received a summons for the Jury Trial scheduled on Friday, March 15th, 2024, you will need to come to the entrance as stated on your notice. You must appear in Benton by 8:30 am and be checked in by the Bailiff. Please continue to check the jury information line (573-545-3050) for jury updates as we often have last minute changes. If you have questions, or require special assistance of any kind, please call our office during normal business hours at 573-545-3596.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Remote Public Access began July 1, 2023.  Missouri Case.net will allow people to view public court documents from their personal computers, tablets, or cell phones. This works only for public documents filed on or after July 1, 2023.  To comply with this new change, all filings with confidential information must be redacted upon submission to the Courts.  In addition, a Redaction Certification form must be submitted with each filing.  You may visit the below websites for more information:

Manage My Case will be available September 1st, 2022 for Traffic tickets.  Use your mobile device or computer to:

 - Pay online

 - Save time and travel

 - Request a Payment Plan

 - Get emails on cases tickets

 - File documents online

Please allow 10 days for tickets to be available online.  Please visit www.courts.mo.gov/casenet for more information. "Manage My Case" will show if ticket does not require a court appearance. Notice: Plead and Pay can be used to pay your traffic ticket online. For more information, please visit Missouri case.net at:

https://www2.courts.mo.gov/cnet/welcome.do.  

This feature is only available for violation bureau eligible tickets that can be resolved without going to court. If you prefer not to pay through Plead and Pay, please refer to the options on your ticket.

If mailing payments or filings, please allow 5 - 7 business days for delivery.  There is a drop box on the south end of the Courthouse. If using the drop box, please make sure you address it to the Circuit Clerk's Office for prompt delivery.

You may also sign up for Track This Case - a feature found on Missouri Case.net. It will send email/text alerts to you regarding the case. (Text message rates may apply. You may cancel this service at any time.) The steps for signing up are as follows:
1) Go to www.courts.mo.gov/casenet
2) Enter case number or litigant name
3) Click on the case number you want to track
4) Click on Track This Case (the icon is a picture of feet)
5) Provide your Email Address, enter the options you want by clicking on the check boxes next to the option
6) Enter the verification code
7) Click on Track This Case

Attention Missouri Travelers:  REAL ID Enforcement: Missouri

According to the Official Website of the Department of Revenue, beginning May 3, 2023, residents of every U.S. state and territory will be required to present a REAL ID-compliant driver license or ID card, or another form of ID accepted by the Transportation Security Administration, to board federally regulated domestic flights.  Also beginning May 3, 2023, individuals must present a REAL ID-compliant driver license or ID card, or another form of acceptable ID, to access federal facilities and to enter nuclear power plants.

The Scott County Circuit Clerk's office is an official Passport Acceptance Agency. Our hours of acceptance are Monday-Friday, excluding holidays, 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. For more information, call our office at 573-545-3596.

Continuous Garnishment filers:

Statement of Judgment Balance reports not received, within 200 days from the date of garnishment issue, will result in the immediate termination of the garnishment without notice.
