Diehlstadt Archeological Sites Though not open to the public, two archeological studies are taking place near Diehlstadt to study the prehistoric Mississippian culture dating back to 1499-1000 AD. The properties are privately owned and are restricted.

Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo The Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo, held annually in August, is the biggest rodeo in southeast Missouri. The top cowboys on the rodeo circuit attend and try their luck at bare back riding, bull riding, saddle bronc and other events. Nashville stars entertain each evening during the four-day rodeo. Sikeston Depot Museum  116 W. Malone Ave. Sikeston, MO 63801 The Sikeston Missouri Pacific Railroad Depot is on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1916 next to the busiest tracks in southeast Missouri and closed in 1986. Through the restoration work by local citizens, the depot is now a cultural center and museum.
